While most players will have a lot of gold in the end game, if you want to be a big spender all game, this allows you to restock decently. Mix in some armor crafting with leather, scale or plate scraps and you can actually make quite a bit of late game gold. Some crafting though, like sticks and shells into staffs can be pretty nice later game as if you save up these materials and craft them at level 17 or so, each staff is worth a few hundred gold each (with good barter). Otherwise the only other real useful recipe is combining runes into larger ones and adding their frames.
Lone wolf built closed circuit can deal something like 11k damage in the are around you and scrolls of the ability can allow you to drop some 3 in just a single turn. Even source orbs can allow you to obtain spamable source skills. Mix them with ambidextrous and you can use abilities like superconductor over and over with -1 AP without needing elemental affinity.
